Immigration Approval
We came home from work today and guess what was in the mail. . . . IMMIGRATION APPROVAL!!! Yippee!!!
One step closer to Jadon coming home!!!
My heart started hurting for him yesterday and I am realizing this will be a LONG wait!!! So I have decided I am just going to take one day at a time. Some days up, some days down. But all in all this is a better wait than any!
Last night after choir I went by Target and bought a little pajama (size 9 month) that has a little turtle on a big turtle's back and it says "Me and My Mommy." I just dream of the day I can cuddle it with him in it!!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD JADON REICHERT GUNKEL!!
Born January 22, 2007
Weight 7lbs 7oz
Height 19in
Talk about a huge surprise to get the call early last Friday morning that they had our child. This day came about 3-4 months before we thought it would. So you could say I was a little speechless on the phone when the agency called. Isn't he just the cutest little guy you can ever imagine?
How did we come up with Jadon's name?
Well first we wanted a Spanish name for our son. There has been a tradition in our family (Jessica's primarily) for everyone's name to begin with a J. Fortunately we were able to find a name that we both really liked that began with a J. But it really stuck when we found out the meaning. Jadon means "Jehovah has heard". Such a fitting name meaning for our child.
Jadon's middle name Reichert is the old German pronunciation and spelling of my mom's family. Ever since my Grandmother first told me about the history of her name I have been in love with it. It feels really good to pass something this name down to our son.
There is a lot more to come on this blog with updates about Jadon and our progress in bringing him home.
