Finished with the Dossier!!

Jessica just called me to say that she had just let the capital with our paperwork. This was the final step in the Dossier portion of the adoption process. We had to take all of our documents from Georgia down to the Federal Court office to get authenticated and then to the capital to get the state seal attached. Jessica was definitely a trooper for our child over the last couple days. I haven’t been able to leave work so she has been running the errands to finalize all of our documents.

Now we are just waiting on the immigration notification from the US government. It should be in anytime but they were thinking in February or March. The sooner the better because with international adoption there is always a risk of something changing. Once we get our immigration approval I believe we will be grandfathered in to any changes that are made on the American side of the adoption. There are a couple more steps before we will be “safe” for the Guatemalan side.

Keep us in your prayers that these next couple of stages will move swiftly.
